A new survey names Cheryl Cole as the Hair Icon of 2011 beating singer Rihanna and the fashion icon the Duchess of Cambridge. Around 5,000 women took part in the survey where Cole was voted as the one with the desirable locks which they wanted to imitate.
It’s remarkable that Cole’s victory isn’t a result of her natural locks as the star uses hair extensions which also sparked controversy in her 2009 L’Oreal ad. The high profile ad claimed that an improved shampoo revitalized her ‘weak, limp, lifeless’ hair whereas the hair extensions were indeed responsible for it!
Although she clinched the Hair Icon 2011 title, not all of Cole’s hair styles were fabulous! Her Voluminous 70’s hairdo for US X Factor auditions was highly criticized and her X Factor spell was short lived. However, she came out of her X Factor rebuff with a new blond hair style.
