Passengers on a British Airways flight to Portugal have defended rap star Dizzie Rascal
after he was thrown off the plane for apparently complaining too loudly about the hour-long
delay.

The Londoner, whose real name is Dylan Kwabena Mills, is alleged to have become angry
after the Airbus 320 was left standing still on the runway for more than an hour. Dizzie was
travelling to Portugal to perform at the Optimus Alive! festival but was forced to apologise
to fans after the delay caused him to miss the event.

Several of Dizzie’s fellow passengers have since defended the rapper, claiming that he
was not abusive but actually had been ‘stitched up’ by a rude staff member.

John Godsland, 39, has said he will never fly BA again and told The Evening
Standard: ‘We had been on the plane for about an hour, Dizzee had been asleep, and
he woke up and there was a female member of cabin crew walking past and he said to
her something along the lines of, ‘What’s going on? What are we still doing here? What’s
happening?’

Mr Godsland told the newspaper that the flight attendant then started ‘wagging her finger
at him’: ‘He got a bit upset. I think at some point he did swear but it wasn’t at her.’

Before leaving the plane, the Londoner spoke to the captain ‘at length’. There was a police
van waiting on the runway but police have confirmed that no arrests were made.

Gillian Beeby, another passenger and a student from Peterborough, tweeted: ‘On a
flight to Portugal and disgusted by BA’s treatment of a person who got thrown off due to
a member of staff being rude. BA has just thrown Dizzee Rascal off flight to Portugal -
appalling behaviour by BA staff who inflamed situation!’

Heathrow Airport saw a record 6.1 million passengers pass through its terminals in June, a
6.3 per cent increase on last year.
