Amy Winehouse’s parents were in tears as they visited the singer’s home
today, where fans had gathered to pay their respects.

Arriving with Amy’s ex-boyfriend, Reg Traviss, Mitch and Janis Winehouse as
they thanked the crowds. Mr Winehouse said:

‘Amy was all about love. Her whole life was devoted to her family and friends.
We are speechless, we are devastated.

‘We are so glad you are here. I know a lot of you. We have been together for
five or six years. You people in the street I can’t tell you what it means to us. It
has made (her death) a lot easier for us.’

The troubled singer’s bodyguard Andrew Morris discovered her body in her
bedroom just after 4pm on Saturday.

Amy’s parents were due to view her body for the first time today, with a post
mortem examination also expected today. A source told the Evening Standard
that the family are planning to hold a traditional Jewish burial in North London,
followed by a tribute concert. The ‘Back to Black’ star’s friends Sir Elton John
and Mark Ronson are amongst those expected to perform.

A friend of the family said: ‘They will be going to see her body today, and will
then look to make the funeral arrangements as soon as possible. They want
to bury her according to Jewish tradition, which will be an intimate affair most
likely near their home in Enfield.

They are aware that thousands will want to attend, including fans and famous
faces, and know this is something they will have to address.

Although they are still in shock and coming to terms with her death, an early
plan is to hold a private funeral and then follow it with some sort of memorial
concert where everyone can celebrate her music and her memory.’
